I have a wide variety of experience ranging from Senior Management to Corporate Governance, Company Secretary and client facing roles.

I have held various roles in the intellectual property, banking and funds sectors, most recently as CI Head of Corporate Governance for a global funds business. I have gained a wide variety of experience in senior management and company secretarial roles and able to contribute at all levels of a business, from managing shareholders to establishing and developing teams. 

I have company secretarial experience for group companies located in Jersey, Guernsey, the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Hong Kong, Israel and the United States.

I am organised, responsible and conscientious, and thrive on having the flexibility to use my own initiative. Honesty and integrity with attention to detail, persistence and energy are at the heart of my working practices.

My role at Virteffic is to provide governance and secretarial support. Since joining, I have been involved with:

  • preparing minutes;
  • proofreading minutes;
  • assisting with project work;
  • corporate governance practice; and
  • day-to-day administration.

I understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion within my role.

Tasks that I have performed in my previous roles:

  • Led the corporate governance function in the Channel Islands;
  • Developed, delivered and maintained a robust corporate governance framework with a focus on continuous improvement;
  • Led the recruitment of a CI NED and managed the relationship with the successful candidate;
  • Company secretarial duties for multi-jurisdiction regulated companies and subsidiary undertakings;
  • Managed teams of company secretarial and corporate governance professionals;
  • Led and supported businesses in major transformation and remediation projects;
  • Assisted with the transfer and exit of clients;
  • Worked on a managed trust company structure (MTC);
  • Compliance work in relation to an MTC and within jurisdiction-specific legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Prepared documentation for property transactions requiring liaison with clients and UK and Jersey-based legal advisors;
  • Delivered a highly dedicated company secretarial service across multiple jurisdictions in a demanding and fast changing environment;
  • Identified and implemented projects to improve efficiency and mitigate risk;
  • Managed a project to carry out a review of existing and/or create new procedures for the three Fund Services Jersey Teams: Financial Control, Transfer Agency and Company Secretarial;
  • Administration of the arrangements for the acquisition of a securities services business;
  • Coordinated and facilitated a global communication environment and deputised for an Australia-based programme manager;
  • Ensured that strategies to address potential threats to the Australian-based programme’s success were identified and resolved or escalated appropriately;
  • Created and implemented a development and succession plan to improve efficiency and reduce risk;
  • Responsibility for recruitment, induction, objective setting and performance management and budgets for 32 staff;
  • Migration of a new business methodology to regional offices and created a new Jersey-based team to provide support to those offices;
  • Lead manager in a company’s service quality, risk and cost reduction initiatives;
  • Created a model for the take-on of new business and migrating the model to a new UK-based team; acted as the link between the sales and new business teams to optimise resources;
  • Responsible for the statutory and administrative requirements for a partnership and its subsidiary undertakings and the sole representative of the partners in the Jersey head office;
  • Key contact for all UK and Jersey tax and legal consultants during a period of unprecedented executive management review;
  • Part of a drafting committee comprising Jersey legal counsel, UK partners and QC for a new and tailored Limited Partnership agreement and recruitment of replacement management team;
  • Created formal recruitment procedures, including job descriptions, appraisals, conditions of employment and a graduate trainee scheme and the administration of staff pensions, PHI claims and the allocation of charitable donations;
  • Part of a three-person team to relocate the business and 300+ staff to new premises;
  • Assisted the Chairman and auditors in the successful submission for the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement, the first such award in the Channel Islands. Organised an award’s ceremony at Government House and a function at the Science Museum in London (250+ partners and clients from around the world).

A core competency of mine is developing and implementing efficiency improvements and monitoring and reporting on their performance.
