Five years of Virteffic

Five years ago, I made the decision to leave behind a senior director role and take a leap into the unknown. I had a vision for a different kind of business: one that prioritised flexibility, independence, and wellbeing, while still delivering the highest standards of governance and minute-taking services.

That vision became Virteffic.

As we celebrate five years in business, I want to share some reflections, express my thanks, and offer a glimpse of what lies ahead.

Starting from scratch

Launching Virteffic in 2020 was both exciting and daunting. At the time, I had no clients, no team, and no certainty. What I did have was belief. Belief in myself, in the need for a better way to work, and in the value of flexible, high-quality support.

In those early days, I worked though the nights in my home office, creating templates, setting up processes, developing the website, and creating social media posts. Every new instruction helped shape the Virteffic model.

I am incredibly grateful to the clients who believed in Virteffic before we had a reputation or track record. Their trust laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Building a team and a culture

By 2021, the business had grown beyond what I could manage alone. It was time to bring in others who shared the same values and commitment to quality. 

I wanted to create something different: a business where people could do meaningful work in a way that respected their time, their lives, and their wellbeing.

At Virteffic, every team member chooses how and when they work. There is no rigid schedule. Instead, we focus on trust, communication, and high-quality outcomes. The result is a culture of collaboration, kindness, and consistency. That is something I am truly proud of.

What we have achieved

Since 2020, we have supported a wide range of clients across Jersey, Guernsey, the UK, and the Cayman Islands. In five years, Virteffic has:

• Drafted thousands of board and committee minutes for regulated firms, start-ups, and charities.
• Delivered governance training and independent board effectiveness reviews.
• Provided flexible secondment support to cover parental leave and peak demand.
• Assisted businesses of all sizes in strengthening their corporate governance frameworks.
• Built long-term relationships based on discretion, accuracy, and trust.

One example I am particularly proud of is helping a Jersey start-up navigate its very first board meeting. Our support gave the directors the confidence to focus on strategy while we ensured the governance framework and minutes met regulatory expectations.

Every achievement is thanks to the brilliant Virteffic team and the clients who continue to put their confidence in us.

Looking ahead

This anniversary marks an important milestone, but it also feels like the beginning of the next phase. We are expanding our services, investing in technology, and growing the team with purpose.

Our commitment remains rooted in our five core values: efficiency, confidentiality, flexibility, diligence, and knowledge. These principles are the foundation of our work and our relationships.

As we look to the future, we will continue to provide tailored, reliable, and expert governance services in Jersey, Guernsey, and beyond.
