Brenna Dubois Joins Team Virteffic

Brenna has recently graduated from the University of Liverpool with a first-class Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and has joined Virteffic at the beginning of her professional career.

A New Direction After University

Brenna has long been interested in psychology and understanding human behaviour, studying the subject at A-level before continuing her studies at university. During her degree, her interests developed around motivation, discipline, mental wellbeing and finding balance.

Joining Virteffic has given Brenna the opportunity to begin developing her professional skills while exploring a new area of work. The company’s remote-first approach was also something that particularly appealed to her, offering a balance between work and life outside of it.

Learning Through Variety

In her first weeks at Virteffic, Brenna has already had the opportunity to work across a variety of tasks. These have included organising social events, creating surveys, formatting guidance notes and organising SharePoint lists.

She has particularly enjoyed the variety of the role and the opportunity to discover which areas of professional work she enjoys most. Looking ahead, she is interested in gaining more exposure to client work and, in time, developing her understanding of governance and company secretarial work.

Finding Her Feet at Virteffic

Brenna describes her first few weeks as welcoming and supportive. The team’s “startup zone” chat has provided a useful place to ask questions, while colleagues have also taken the time to arrange calls and explain tasks.

Training, regular Teams communication and meeting colleagues in person have all helped her settle into the team. She has also appreciated joining at a similar time to other new team members and having others around who are also finding their feet.

Learning From the Team

One thing that has stood out to Brenna is the range of different backgrounds, experiences and strengths within Team Virteffic. She has enjoyed seeing how different perspectives can contribute to ideas and ways of working.

For Brenna, joining Virteffic is about continuing to learn, building confidence and discovering where her interests and strengths can develop as she begins her career.

Looking Ahead

Having not yet undertaken minute writing, Brenna is looking forward to learning more about this aspect of the role and gaining a greater understanding of client work. She is keen to continue broadening her skill set and discovering which areas of governance and professional services interest her most.

Outside Work

Outside work, Brenna enjoys going to the gym and spending time in nature, particularly going for walks. She also danced when she was younger and continues to have an interest in health, wellbeing and maintaining balance.
