At Virteffic, we believe that recognising talent and promoting from within strengthens both our team and the service we provide to clients. We are proud to celebrate Sarah’s recent promotion, reflecting her dedication, expertise, and the trust she has earned across the firm.
We invited Sarah to share her experiences at Virteffic so far, here’s her reflection:
Building Capability, Trust and Governance Excellence at Virteffic
I have been with Virteffic for just over a year, and during that time my role has evolved naturally and meaningfully. What began as familiarising myself with a new organisation and its ways of working has developed into a far broader company secretarial role, supporting clients across a wide range of industries and sectors. This reflects both the diversity of Virteffic’s client base and the trust placed in me to continue expanding my technical knowledge and professional judgement.
One of the aspects I value most about my role is the ability to work remotely while maintaining a strong professional presence. Virteffic’s flexible working culture allows me to balance family life with work, while remaining fully available during traditional office hours. That trust and autonomy are genuinely empowering and enable me to deliver consistently high-quality work.
Beyond flexibility, I particularly enjoy the exposure to different business models and governance environments. Attending board and committee meetings for a wide range of clients allows me to continuously develop my expertise, not only within the company secretarial space but also across broader governance and boardroom dynamics. I am naturally curious and always keen to learn, and Virteffic provides an environment where that growth is actively encouraged.
Over the past year, I have also had the opportunity to represent Virteffic externally, including attending the CGI Guernsey Conference and the CGI London Governance Awards. These experiences allowed me to engage with like-minded professionals, stay close to emerging governance themes, and proudly represent the Virteffic brand within the wider governance community.
What I value greatly is that my role is not limited to minute-taking alone. I am able to contribute across a range of activities, including supporting new client opportunities, assisting with onboarding, and promoting Virteffic’s training and board effectiveness services. This breadth not only keeps my work engaging but also reinforces Virteffic’s integrated and value-led approach to governance support.
My recent promotion is meaningful to me both personally and professionally. It is a clear indication that my contributions are valued and that my development is aligned with the firm’s long-term vision. Looking ahead, I am excited to take a more active lead in client engagements, continue building trusted relationships, and play my part in supporting Virteffic’s continued success.
What truly sets Virteffic apart is its people and its collaborative culture. The team is exceptionally supportive, with a depth and breadth of expertise that ensures there is always someone available to provide guidance or step in when needed. That collective approach not only supports work-life balance but also ensures continuity and excellence for clients. It creates an environment where everyone feels supported, respected, and able to perform at their best.
This culture directly translates into the quality of service we provide. Knowing that we operate as a team gives clients confidence that their governance needs are being met with consistency, professionalism, and care.
I am particularly excited about my involvement in the development of Virteffic’s training and board effectiveness services. These offerings provide a valuable opportunity to share the insights gained from our extensive practical experience and to positively influence governance standards. Supporting boards and organisations to strengthen their effectiveness is an area I am passionate about, and I look forward to seeing these services continue to grow over the coming year.
We’re proud to celebrate Sarah’s achievements and excited to see what she brings to her new role.
Congratulations, Sarah!
