Supporting the Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association

Coming together for a meaningful walk

This past weekend, our Guernsey team members, Louise Burton and Sarah Walden, proudly took part in the Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Tower to Tower Walk. The event brought the community together for a 13k coastal route, uniting people of all ages in support of a cause that touches many families.

The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and purpose, as walkers enjoyed Guernsey’s beautiful coastline while raising awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. The charity plays a vital role in supporting those living with dementia and their families, offering essential services and raising awareness of an issue that continues to grow in importance across our communities.

Why this event matters

Events like the Tower to Tower Walk are more than just fundraising initiatives. They are opportunities to unite, raise awareness, and show compassion for those affected by dementia. With cases of dementia on the rise, charities such as the Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association are a lifeline, providing support, education, and community connections for those in need.

By participating in this event, Louise and Sarah not only contributed to a fantastic cause but also demonstrated Virteffic’s commitment to supporting local initiatives.

Virteffic’s role in the community

At Virteffic Limited, we believe in making a positive impact beyond the boardroom. While our core services centre on minutes, governance, and secretarial support, we also understand the importance of community. Supporting local charities and initiatives in both Guernsey and Jersey is part of our values, and we’re proud to encourage our team members to get involved in causes that matter to them.

Our values—efficiency, confidentiality, flexibility, diligence, and knowledge—guide everything we do. By supporting initiatives like the Tower to Tower Walk, we show how these values extend beyond client service to community engagement.

Our commitment to CSR

Community involvement is a fundamental part of Virteffic’s identity. Beyond individual events like the Tower to Tower Walk, we are committed to supporting charities and non-profit organisations through discounted rates for minute-taking and administrative support. These charitable rates are designed to cover payroll costs only and are not provided for profit-making purposes.

We also contribute through sponsorships and donations, backing initiatives such as Silhouette Studios, the Jersey Racquetball Festival, Durrell’s tortoise for Trinity School, a rowing boat for a local team, and St Peter’s Football Club. These efforts reflect our belief in giving back and strengthening the communities in which we live and work.

We encourage our team to take part in CSR and ESG activities, supporting causes they feel passionate about. Through sponsorships, donations, and participation in local events, we aim to create lasting positive impacts while reflecting our brand values.

Looking ahead

We are incredibly proud of Louise and Sarah for representing Virteffic at this year’s Tower to Tower Walk. Their efforts highlight not just the strength of our team but also our collective belief in giving back.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to continuing our support for charitable causes and community initiatives across the islands.

If you are a local charity or organisation and would like to explore support or sponsorship opportunities with Virteffic, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch to tell us more about your initiative.
