Louise’s Journey – Trusted to Deliver

Strong governance relies on consistency, good judgement and a commitment to quality. My journey at Virteffic reflects all three. My progression into the Assistant Manager role within the core company secretarial and corporate governance team recognises not only my technical experience, but also the part I play in upholding the high standards our clients depend on.

I began my career straight after sixth form, working in trust and company administration. Over more than a decade, I built a deep understanding of regulated environments and a strong appreciation for accuracy, organisation and follow-through. During this time, I realised how naturally I gravitated toward company secretarial work. It suited my strengths and allowed me to apply the attention to detail and judgement that had become central to how I worked.

Finding a role shaped by experience and purpose

At Virteffic, I found a role where I could apply that experience in a meaningful and purposeful way. My work sits at the heart of the core company secretarial offering, supporting boards, committees and governance teams with clarity and confidence. I take pride in ensuring that what we deliver is accurate, consistent and aligned with what clients expect from us.My promotion to Assistant Manager recognised the contribution I was already making. It wasn’t about stepping into a title for its own sake. It acknowledged the trust placed in my judgement and formalised my part in maintaining quality and supporting others to perform at their best.

Being someone the team can rely on

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is supporting colleagues. I take real satisfaction in helping others grow in confidence and find their footing. Mentoring and guiding team members feels natural to me, and I believe our work is strongest when we support one another.My style is calm, practical and collaborative. I prefer to work alongside colleagues rather than direct from a distance. Whether reviewing work, sharing experience or helping clarify expectations, I focus on giving the team the structure and reassurance they need to deliver consistently. This contributes directly to the quality of our collective output and to the stability our clients value.

Balancing responsibility with flexibility

Returning to work as a mum has shaped how I value flexibility. Virteffic’s culture allows me to maintain a full professional role while balancing family responsibilities. The trust and understanding from the team mean I can perform at my best without compromising either part of my life. That support has been instrumental in my ability to continue progressing.It reinforces something I believe strongly. High standards and flexibility are not opposites. When people feel trusted and supported, they deliver their best work.

Looking ahead with confidence

Looking forward, I am focused on strengthening collaboration across the team, continuing to build strong client relationships and maintaining the quality and professionalism that define our work at Virteffic. I am motivated by seeing others succeed and by helping create an environment where everyone feels supported and confident in their roles.My journey shows that progression here is grounded in experience, trust and a shared commitment to doing the work well. It is a reminder that growth can be personal, steady and meaningful, and that when a team works together, everyone progresses.
