Having just retired after 37 years in air traffic control and also being a pilot who likes to fly his plane any chance he gets, he had a particular interest in the iconic Spitfire. As we arrived at the airfield, his excitement was palpable, and it was contagious.
As Rich climbed into the cockpit, I felt a rush of emotions. The powerful roar of the Spitfire’s engine echoed the intensity of the moment. When the plane took off, it was as if time stood still. Seeing Rich in the sky, manoeuvring the historic aircraft with skill and joy, was a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passions despite the challenges. The flight itself was a magnificent spectacle. The Spitfire soared through the sky with grace and agility. From the ground, I watched in awe, my heart swelling with pride and inspiration.
