Cybersecurity at Virteffic: Our Commitment to Your Safety

At Virteffic, we take cybersecurity very seriously. Protecting our clients’ and our own information is crucial. We know that keeping data safe is essential for our business and our reputation. That’s why we have a strong cybersecurity program that ensures all our employees know the latest security practices and protocols.

Monthly Cybersecurity Training

To keep everyone informed and prepared, everyone at Virteffic attends monthly cybersecurity training sessions. These sessions help us stay updated on the latest threats and how to prevent them. This month, our training focuses on “Security for Remote & Hybrid Workers.”

Security for Remote & Hybrid Workers

At Virteffic, our team collaborates remotely and works from home most of the time. While this flexibility is great, it also brings unique cybersecurity challenges. This month’s training covers good security practices for remote and hybrid workers. Here are some key points and tips:

  • Phishing Threats: Remote workers are especially vulnerable to phishing attacks. These attacks often involve cybercriminals pretending to be well-known brands, like Microsoft, to trick people into downloading malicious files. Our training stresses the importance of being careful and checking emails for signs of phishing.
  • Public Wi-Fi Risks: Public Wi-Fi networks, like those in libraries or cafes, are not always secure. Hackers can use these networks to steal sensitive information, including login credentials. Our training advises against using public Wi-Fi for sensitive work and suggests using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for a secure connection.
  • Trustworthiness of Email Messages: Not all emails from colleagues can be trusted. Cybercriminals can fake email addresses to make malicious emails look legitimate. Employees are trained to verify the authenticity of unexpected or suspicious emails, even if they appear to come from known contacts.
  • Handling Stress and Distraction: Working remotely can sometimes lead to tiredness, distraction, or stress, which can impair judgment. Our training highlights the importance of handling email and data with extra caution under these conditions to avoid falling for cyber threats.

Our Commitment

At Virteffic, we are dedicated to building a culture of cybersecurity awareness and responsibility. By equipping our team with the knowledge and tools to recognise and respond to cyber threats, we protect our business and enhance the trust our clients place in us.

We believe that ongoing education and vigilance are key to staying ahead of cybercriminals. As we continue to adapt to new working environments and technologies, our commitment to cybersecurity remains strong. Together, we can ensure a secure digital future for all.
