Taking place on Thursday 23 November 2023 at Beau Sejour in Guernsey, the evening will bring together the diverse business community for a celebration of the innovation and connection that makes the island such a great place to do business.
About Dave Fishwick and Bank of Dave
Dave Fishwick is the Burnley van and minibus dealer who made policy-makers, industry regulators and multinational banks sit up and take notice. An expert on entrepreneurship, business and finance, he will be sharing his story behind taking on a seemingly impossible challenge, offering valuable lessons for businesses big and small.
Dave’s entrepreneurial journey was captured in the biopic, Bank of Dave, released on Netflix earlier in 2023, which we would highly recommend watching! It charts the true story of how Burnley man Dave fought to set up a community bank and took on the financial institutions of London to achieve his goals.

The community bank set up by Dave, Burnley Savings and Loans, has a fantastic reputation for philanthropy and social activism, as all the profits they make are donated to local charities and campaigns for banking reform.
At Virteffic, we think it’s incredibly important to give back to our community and in particular, support our business community and economy, which is why we decided this was the perfect sponsorship opportunity for us.
Many of our team will be in attendance on the night, from both Jersey and Guernsey, and we’re really looking forward to hearing Dave’s story and networking with industry colleagues.
