About the opportunity

Strong organisation. Meaningful governance support.

Good governance depends on people who can organise information, coordinate meetings, manage deadlines and ensure that important work is followed through.

Virteffic supports boards, committees and governance teams across Jersey, Guernsey and beyond.

This route is intended for people with relevant administrative, meeting-support or professional services experience who would like to apply those skills in a governance environment.

The precise responsibilities will depend on your experience, capability and the requirements of our clients.

The work

What you could be doing

Your work could involve practical support before, during and after board and committee meetings, alongside wider governance administration.

Meeting coordination & administration

  • Coordinating board and committee meetings
  • Assisting with agendas and meeting schedules
  • Preparing and organising board and committee packs
  • Managing meeting documentation and distribution

  • Assisting with company secretarial processes
  • Maintaining accurate governance documentation
  • Liaising with colleagues and client contacts

  • Taking on broader responsibilities as capability develops

Responsibilities will vary. Not every assignment will involve every task. We will discuss the likely scope of work and the support available with candidates.

What we’re looking for

The skills that matter

Technical governance experience can be developed. Strong organisation, accuracy, accountability and professional communication are important foundations for this route.

Organisation and attention to detail

You are comfortable coordinating tasks, managing information and producing accurate work.

Good written communication

You can prepare clear professional correspondence and documentation and recognise the importance of accurate written records.

Reliability and accountability

You follow through on commitments, manage deadlines and communicate promptly when priorities change.

Confidentiality and discretion

You understand the need to handle sensitive client and business information appropriately.

Confidence with systems and documents

You are comfortable using common office applications, organising information and learning new systems.

Interest in governance

You are interested in how boards, committees and organisations operate and willing to develop relevant knowledge over time.

Relevant experience

Where your experience might fit

You may already have many of the skills needed for governance administration and board support, even if you have never held a governance job title.

Professional administration

Experience in executive assistance, office administration, business support, document management or coordinating complex professional schedules.

Financial & professional services

Experience in trust, funds, corporate administration, banking, legal, accounting or other professional services environments.

Meetings & stakeholder support

Experience coordinating meetings, managing agendas and documentation, tracking actions or supporting senior colleagues and stakeholders.

None of these backgrounds is mandatory. We welcome relevant transferable experience from other environments and will consider what you can contribute.
